Discover South Africa...
South Africa is famous for its rich history, heritage, and unforgettable safari experiences. The nation is located at the southern tip of Africa and borders Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Botswana and Namibia. The country’s unique landscape is one of the only places on earth you can come face to face with the Big Five of the animal kingdom: lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo and rhinos. MUST DO ADVENTURES
- Go on Safari in the Kruger, or Pilanesberg National Parks or at the Madikwe Game Reserve. Get up close to the big five during an overnight stay in one of the South Africa’s famous private game reserves such as Singita, Sabi Sabi, Madikwe and the Shamwari.
- Cage dive with Great White Sharks, just outside of Cape Town in Gansbaai.
UNFORGETTABLE SIGHTS
- Visit the Soweto Township in Johannesburg and do a tour of the iconic township to see the peoples’ struggle, and to celebrate the obstacles these people have over come. Adventurous travellers should try bungee jumping off Soweto’s cooling towers.
- Observe the view of the stunning Table Mountains from the World Heritage Listed Robben Island. Book in advance to see the Robben Island Museum where Nelson Mandela was once a prisoner.
THRILLS FOR ADVENTURE SEEKERS
- South Africa offers adrenaline charged adventure alongside one of a kind wildlife experiences.
- Ride an Ostrich in Oudstshoorn in the Western Cape,
- Go hot air ballooning over the Magaliesburg mountain range.
- Experience white water rafting, 4x4 trails, paragliding, fly fishing in the Northern Cape.
- Watch leopards being re-introduced to the wild at Munyawana Leopard Research Project at the Phinda Private Game Reserve.
- Whale watch along the famous Garden Route during early June to November.
BE ENTERTAINED
Sun City, located outside of Rustenburg, is the home of entertainment. The resort includes a waterpark, hotels, a casino and two golf courses and is a short distance from a safari at the Pilanesberg National Park.

- If you are planning to travel to South Africa for the FIFA 2010 World Cup, you should start planning now.
- The South Africa currency is the Rand. One Australian dollar is equal to 6.5 South African Rand. You could by a beer in South Africa for approximately AUD $1.20.
- Travel insurance is highly recommended, a general level of long haul travel insurance is insufficient.
- There are nine provinces in South Africa, with a total of 11 official languages spoken in the country. This provides South Africa with cultural diversity, interesting geography and rich history.
- You should pick up a South African adapter at the airport before leaving the country.
